Mitsubishi Motors announces Pricing on 2004 Montero

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. today announced suggested retail pricing on its 2004 Montero, phasing out the XLS model and lowering the price on the top-of-the-line Limited model in comparison with the 2003 model.

The Montero Limited with Sportronic(tm) transmission is just $34,999 -- a $2,800 reduction from the price of last year's Montero Limited when comparably equipped. Last year's optional rear air conditioning now is standard. This new pricing is designed to place the Montero directly in the heart of the large family SUV segment.

The 2004 Montero now comes fully appointed and can be ordered two ways: With either a sunroof and six-disc CD changer or an all new DVD Video Entertainment System.

In addition to all of its built-in luxury, the Montero is equipped with class-leading safety equipment, including standard front side air bags, traction control and antilock brakes (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD). To further enhance safety and give customers additional peace of mind, a tire pressure monitoring system has been made standard.

"The new Montero is truly an outstanding value," said Finbarr O'Neill, co-chairman and chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. "Plus, it's backed by a 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain coverage and five years of free roadside assistance."

When you compare its new price at $34,999 with a standard 6-disc CD changer to a previous 2003 model, the 2004 Limited represents an improved value.

Montero with DVD Video Entertainment System

In order to satisfy the demands of an increasingly competitive segment Mitsubishi is introducing a new DVD Video Entertainment System that, when combined with all the standard luxury equipment, will represent an exceptional value at $35,449.

Destination charges for Montero remain the same at $625.
