Dan Freeman has been with the store for seven of Cold Brook Mitsubishi's 30+ years of service to the Skowhegan community.   1. What is the history of your store and dealer group? We are a single-store, single-point, Mitsubishi dealer located in a small town, Skowhegan, in central Maine. I grew up and continue to live in Central Maine and am proud to be able to grow a business within driving distance of my hometown. Before owning the store, I owned a direct mail, marketing company in Maine for 20 years. As I traveled the country holding successful events for countless dealerships, one of our accounts was Cold Brook Mitsubishi. After an event, the longtime owner, Joey Joseph, proposed that I buy into the dealership. That was seven years ago, and I could not be happier with that decision. We are a family-run business with employees that have been here for 30+ years. We know that to have a thriving and prosperous business, it is imperative that our customers and employees are treated with the utmost respect. Our customers can shop anywhere - they choose to purchase their vehicles at Cold Brook. And our employees can work anywhere - they choose to work here.
  2. What does your community think about the Mitsubishi brand? We have earned a very loyal client base. Many of our customers have purchased multiple vehicles in the past seven years. Additionally, many customers spread the word about their buying experience by referring friends, co-workers, and family members. We appreciate their help, and as a way to recognize their loyalty, we offer a service credit to all customers who refer customers to Cold Brook.
  3. What kind of community outreach do you do in the area? Do you support local or national charity operations? We know how important it is to give back locally, prioritize being responsible, and give to partners across our communities. We are very active in local youth activities, providing sponsorship to teams, golf outings, and other community fundraisers. We are especially proud of the relationship we have built with the Travis Mills Foundation. United States Army Staff Sergeant Travis Mills was injured serving his country and lost portions of both legs and both arms during an IED explosion while serving in Iraq. He is one of only five quadruple amputees from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars to survive. The foundation provides an environment for post-September 11th veterans and their families to enjoy peace and relaxation at its retreat in central Maine. These veterans have been injured on active duty or because they served our nation. They receive an all-inclusive, all-expense paid, week in Maine where they participate in adaptive activities and bond with other veteran families. Thus far, the retreat has hosted over 1,700 families from over 47 states. We are enormously proud to have donated $160,000 to the foundation over the past three years, as well as a new Outlander that is used to transport veterans to and from the airport.   4. Is there a message you'd like to share with your community? We were honored to be the number-one Mitsubishi dealer in New England in 2022, and to be number two in 2023. This does not happen without a loyal customer base and great employees representing the brand. Mitsubishi offers great value and a fantastic warranty.   5. What else would you like to share about your dealership? We view our people as family. We all have our families at home, but we also have our work family. We enjoy each and every one of our employees. We want them to know we appreciate their vital role in making the dealership successful and will also prioritize their time at home with their loved ones and friends. We prove that by closing at 5 pm, which is not the norm for many other dealerships. We want our people not to live to work, but to work to live.
