Mitsubishi Motors announces pricing on 2004.5 Endeavor

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) today announced suggested retail pricing for the updated 2004.5 Mitsubishi Endeavor, Mitsubishi's mid-sized sport utility vehicle (SUV). The suggested retail price for the enhanced Endeavor ranges from a low of $24,999 - almost $600 less than the initial 2004 launch price - to a fully loaded suggested retail price of $33,794, not including destination and handling of $595. In addition to a lower suggested base price, the 2004.5 Endeavor will include more standard equipment, new options and improved engine performance for all trim lines.

"Endeavor's mid-year updates combined with our newly introduced 10 year/100,000 mile warranty provide an impressive value proposition in the competitive SUV market," said Michael M. Tocci, senior vice president of sales, distribution and fleet. "Consumers have a wide choice in SUVs and we're certain that the Endeavor definitely belongs on their short list for consideration."

Changes to the 2004.5 Endeavor for both 2WD and AWD models include the addition of daytime running lamps, adoption of an advanced dual-stage front airbag supplemental restraint system (SRS) with front passenger occupant sensors, a tire pressure monitoring system, and increased power output from the vehicle's 3.8L SOHC V6 engine - 225 horsepower at 5,000 rpm with peak torque of 250 lbs.-ft occurring at 3,750 rpm.

An improved anti-Lock braking system (ABS), including electronic brake-force distribution and traction control, is more widely available as an option on the Endeavor LS 2WD and is standard on the XLS 2WD and Limited 2WD. A full size alloy spare wheel and tire with a towing prep package is now standard on Endeavor LS AWD, XLS 2WD and AWD (optional on LS 2WD). Side impact air bags for front seats and a leather steering wheel are now standard on Endeavor XLS.

New options being introduced include a video entertainment system with a DVD player and two wireless headphones for the rear seat passengers for the Endeavor XLS and Limited trim lines. Also, Mitsubishi Active Traction and Skid Control (M-ASTC) is a new option for the Limited AWD.

Other price changes include lowering the Endeavor LS AWD by almost $300 to $27,299. With more standard equipment, the Endeavor XLS 2WD improves in value by almost $750 and now starts at $28,399. The Endeavor XLS AWD is $29,899. The Endeavor Limited is lower by almost $400 than at initial launch with a starting price of $31,299 for 2WD and $32,799 for AWD.
