Mitsubishi Concept CA-MiEV

The Mitsubishi Concept CA-MiEV gives an indication of the direction Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (which launched the Mitsubishi i-MiEV, the world's first mass-produced electric vehicle) that the company believes electric vehicles (EVs) will be headed in the near future.

The Mitsubishi Concept CA-MiEV's supple yet vigorous exterior design races towards the future, expressing the advanced next-generation EV technologies embedded beneath its eye-catching sheet-metal.

Its headlight and rear taillight designs are based on the faceted shape of cut diamonds, creating a deep and sophisticated design aesthetic. This facet-cut theme is carried over to the design of this concept car's wheels as well.

Its highly-efficient next-generation EV powertrain includes lightweight components in an integrated electric motor, inverter and charger module that help to reduce power losses. It also includes magnetic resonance wireless lithium-ion battery recharging. Paired with its 28 kWh main drive lithium-ion battery pack, streamlined aerodynamics and an exhaustive reduction in body weight, this EV concept has a driving range of approximately 185 miles (300 km).

Advanced safety technologies including Lane Departure Warning (LD W), Active Cruise Control (ACC) and Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) have also been incorporated into this handsome futuristic EV, along with convenient features like remote-controlled air-conditioning and battery recharging.
