Back In Black: Mitsubishi Introduces Bolder Black Edition Package For Its Best-Selling Outlander Model Line

The new trim-level continues Mitsubishi’s tradition of blacked-out appearance packages, providing shoppers with more purchase options for the brand’s award-winning flagship SUV

Carrying on a long-running tradition, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. has introduced a Black Edition trim for its best-selling 2022 Outlander model, available immediately at dealerships nationwide.

The all-new 2022 Outlander – which is the best-equipped, most connected vehicle the three-diamond brand has ever sold in the U.S. – continues to delight customers due to its thoughtfully engineered and value-packed feature-set, bold styling and serene interior.

Outlander Black Edition models include all SE trim-level equipment, including a 2.5L inline four-cylinder engine and Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), and then adds standard dual-zone climate control and a power panoramic sunroof. Mitsubishi's rally-derived Super All-wheel Control (S-AWC)1 all-wheel drive system is available optionally.

Enhancements round out the package, including:

  • Black front and rear bumper garnish
  • Black door handle trim
  • Black side mirrors
  • 20-inch black alloy wheels
  • Black headliner and pillars

Since its debut, the 2022 Outlander has been named a Wards 10 Best Interiors winner, "Vehicle of the Year" by Victory & Reseda, "Latin Flavor Car of the Year" in the SUV class by Puros Autos and earned a TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

Featuring Mitsubishi's next generation Dynamic Shield front face and design language, a newly developed platform and 2.5L four-cylinder engine, available rally-derived S-AWC, and an award-winning interior with standard three-row seating, the 2022 Outlander Black Edition is available at a starting MSRP of $29,995.
