Katherine Knight

Katherine Knight is Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, Human Resources and Corporate Governance for Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA). Katherine assumed her role in October 2022, after serving as MMNA Vice President, General Counsel since November 2019. In her current role, Katherine is responsible for overseeing a cross-functional department combining the Legal, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Real Estate/Facilities, Corporate Administration, Risk Management and Compliance functions as well as serving as MMNA’s Corporate Secretary.

Katherine has extensive experience both as external and internal counsel, with particular emphasis on commercial and business litigation, as well as specific expertise in labor relations, employment law and compliance.  Prior to MMNA, she held the position of Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary and interim VP of Human Resources for USA Truck, Inc., a public transportation and logistics company.   

Katherine’s experience as internal corporate counsel also includes tenure at Dollar General Corporation from 2010-2016, and Nissan North America, Inc. from 2016-2018.  In her early career, she served as a law clerk to a federal district judge and as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Tennessee, followed by several years in private practice.  She earned her B.A. from the College of William and Mary, and her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School.

Katherine is a native of Nashville (graduate of University School of Nashville) and is a devout Nashville Predators hockey fan.  She also enjoys long-distance running, hiking, and CrossFit in her free time.

She is based at MMNA’s headquarters in Franklin, Tennessee.
